| Balanced Guarding
Features:
For single press & slide table. Full physical guarding with
safety switch. Switch can be interlocked into control safety circuit
which will prevent interruption of cycle by the operator. Suitable
for long process time or multiple cycles.
Pros: Full, physical guard. Can be interlocked
with safety circuit. Guard locks once the cycle has started. Two
hand control not required.
Cons: Not suited tooling or parts that are larger
than fixture mounting plate.
Controls: Single hand, PRC210 or 1001.
Bay Window Guarding
Features:
Can be used with Rotary index table. Two independent gates with
interlock switch.
Pros: Utilizes maximum area on the index table.
Full guarding.
Cons: Costs
Controls: Single hand, PRC210 or 1001.
Rotary Gate
Features:
Rotary gate with interlock switch can be used with tall work pieces
on a rotary index table. Allows full physical guarding. Switch can
be interlocked into control safety circuit.
Pros: Full guarding at a reasonable cost. Ideal
for tall parts & tooling.
Cons: Can only be positioned through centerline
of index drive.
Controls: Single hand, PRC210 1001.
Box Guarding with Light Curtain
Features: Can be used in most work cell concepts.
Light Curtain typically used with Box Guarding. Protects operator
from press station. It can be interlocked into control safety.
Pros: Conducive to higher productivity.
Cons: No physical protective guarding.
Controls: Single hand, Two hand, PRC210 or 1001.
Swing Gate Guarding
Features:
Suitable for slide table, shuttle table and rotary index table.
Allows full, physical guarding. Opening is contoured according to
work piece. Switch can be interlocked into control safety circuit.
Pros: Operator's hands can be close to tooling.
can also be utilized to inspect part to meet a certain contour.
Cons: Not suited for large work piece applications.
Controls: Single hand, PRC210 or 1001.
Gravity Gate Guarding
Features:
Suitable for a single press with or without a slide table. Prevents
cycle interruption by the operator. Locking safety switch is included.
Pros: Full physical guard. Automatically opens
and closes. Cycle in progress can not be interrupted by operator.
Cons:
Controls: Single hand, PRC 210 or 1001.
NOTE: Single point initiation devices always
require that the entire station be guarded. A rotary index table
with Box Guarding must be operated with a two hand cycle start system
and therefore can not be operated in "auto" cycle.
